A longtime Harrisburg shopping center was sold last month.
The Kline Plaza shopping center which is located on South 25th and Market Streets near Harrisburg High School has been sold.
New York-based Nassimi Realty LLC purchased the shopping center on Dec. 24 for $8.7 million, according to Dauphin County property records. The shopping center had previously been purchased for $17.3 million back in 2004. The previous owner was a group affiliated with the New York-based Brixmor Property Group.
Kline Plaza which was previously known as Kline Village was built in 1950, according to property records. The shopping center is anchored by Giant Foods and also includes a number of smaller tenants including Citi Trends, Family Dollar, McDonald’s and a state liquor store.
A representative from Nassimi Realty couldn’t immediately be reached for comment. But, Kevin Nassimi, vice president of leasing, told The Burg that he attributed the much lower sales price to 10 current vacancies at the shopping center. He told The Burg that a top priority would be finding tenants for the empty space, and would focus on signing “discount-oriented retailers” and would consider a wide variety of tenants for the empty office space at the shopping center.
