BOTANY PLAZA SHOPPING CENTER WINS BEAUTIFICATION AWARD FROM THE CITY OF CLIFTON, NJ
CATEGORY: PRESSREGION: NORTHEASTPROPERTY: BOTANY PLAZAPOSTED ON: MAY, 01 2001

CLIFTON, NJ, May, 2001 - Botany Plaza and the shopping center’s KMART store have been presented with a Commercial Beautification Award by the City of Clifton. The city’s Commercial Beautification Project has "challenged residents and businesses alike to participate in the rebuilding, renovation and creation of buildings of character and distinction."

Botany Plaza is a 200,000 square foot center that opened in March of 1997 on an abandoned Forstman Knitting Mill along the Dundee Canal, adjacent to the Botany Village section of Clifton. The center is now 100% leased. The site is bisected by the Clifton/Passaic county line, placing part of the center within a New Jersey "Urban Enterprise Zone."

The citation presented by Clifton’s mayor and city council notes that the award is "a sign of our appreciation for your civic participation and example, which we hope will serve to encourage others to also help to make Clifton a more beautiful, healthful, and inviting place in which to live and conduct business."

Botany Plaza is anchored by Big Kmart and Pathmark Super Center. Other stores include TrustCompany Bank branch, Fashion Bug women’s specialty store, GNC General Nutrition Center, Mail Boxes Etc., Discount Liquors, Dollar Mania, Eastern King Buffet, Re/Max Realtors, The Laundry Factory and Discount Depot
